More Stuff:

We took a jeep tour up to a mountain river that we walked up as part of our day jeep trip into the mountains. It was awesome yet scary with narrow winding roads. The river was incredible!! Fast and clear. Very refreshing.

I went up to this "mammy" and said ""You've got a coconut on your head!" She laughed. We chatted. Some local school girls (below) came walking by and she gave them one dollar.
I asked: " You're granddaughter?". She replied that she didn't know them. I asked her why she gave them a dollar. She said "You got to take care of 'de children."
It was really cool!!

Montego Bay sunset.                                Same area. from the restaurant that we ate at.

Can you guess what this guy was smoking? I paid him a few bucks to pose for me after he asked "Do you want a picture of de rasta man?"

He shook Danielle's hand.

I hope you liked our little album from our Jamaica trip. We had a good time. I took many, many pictures and talked with enough locals to really get a sense of what it's like to live there.

I felt that Jamaica has an "edge" to it. I know, that sounds vague. But they live a hard life; there's crime and poverty. Education is hard to come by and life is a day to day struggle. I was more nervous there, (as a parent with a 6 year old), than I was in Mexico or the Dominican Republic.
