Costa Rica. A few travel shots...

Anyone who knows Tina knows she wants to travel......a lot. Guess I better get cracking then uh?? I've always said that I would like to find a place that we could return to on a regular basis and Tina's consistently has objected to that idea. I know, I know, doesn't sound like us, since I'm more the zen-like vagabond and she's the conservative minded accountant brain after stability and all,......go figure.
This time it's different though. We found Costa Rica and Tina wants to go back.
So do I. We had fun and I would like to go back forever. It's an awesome place, awesome people, awesome country, and our holiday was underscored by the fact that we met some awesome people from Vancouver, which I know is also an awesome place...(Mission, BC, actually..).
Anyhoo, Costa Rica gets  a perfect score. If you don't like Iguanas however, do not go.

Oh, I have to tell you  a story as told to us by the Johnson's, the family from Mission BC. When they had originally left to go on their two week holiday they were turned away at the airport because somebody there told them they could not go to Costa Rica unless their 8 year old had her own passport (not a passport combined on her mom's, which is what most children use...). This person even had a faxed memo which proved this new requirement.

This, needless to say, skewed their plans terribly. They had to leave the airport, work on getting an emergency passport, changed their plans entirlely by trying to shift their two weeks ahead by a full week...on and on, it ended up costing several thousand dollars and an extra lost week. So, you can imagine their shock when we showed up with an 8 year old who made it fine on Tina's passport.

When we returned Tina called our travel agent to give her a heads up on this vital bit of information. The travel agent called back within the hour and said she had just got off the phone with the consulate in Ottawa and turns out there is no such a requirement. Go figure?
